One of the first steps to preparing your home and family for any type of disaster or emergency weather it be severe thunder storms ie tornados , flash flooding hurricanes ,ice storms , blizzards, earthquakes, forest fires which occur on a regular basis around the country or the occasional man-made disasters such as toxic waste spills or nuclear plant breakdowns or worse that close roads and down the power grid that have the potential to down delivery of trucked in food supplies and essential utilities delivered from 100s of miles away such as water and power and sewage not only for days but possibly weeks or months.

The Veterans Administration does everything it can to help veterans and their spouses who need caregiving help get a helping hand. They have a time window for application so you need to apply as soon as possible . You will have to contact your nearest State Veterans service officer (VSO) they work with the VA to help as many as they are able. You will need a DD214 and marriage certificate if you are applying for a spouse of veteran . They are very excellent in helping you navigate the paperwork .
